NVQ Trainer/Assessor

The post will be based across 2 prisons that are on the same site in Sutton: HMP High Down and HMP Downview
35 hours per week
1 year fixed term contract (September 2010 - Aug 2011)
Salary Scale S01 £27,945 - £29,575 on achievement of A1 qualification

We are looking for someone with substantial relevant qualifications and experience of delivering the NVQ qualification to vulnerable adults within the prison including recruitment, coaching, training, assessment and one to one support. HMP High Down is a category B local male prison where we already have an establish peer advice programme and a housing team. HMP Downview is a completely new project and will require someone who can liaise with the prison staff, recruit and select the candidates, ensure they have advice roles in the prison and deliver the NVQ. Previous experience of working in a prison and developing and implementing new projects would be desirable.

This appointment is subject to security clearance from the Prison Service. For this reason we will not be able to accept applications from people with recent criminal convictions.
